Our New Web Site (for our breeding endeavors)

Hey all,

If you have a minute, I finally got most of our web site up -- the one we're setting up for our breeding endeavors so that people can find information about us and our Labs quickly and easily.

Our name as a breeder is "Stoney Ridge Labrador Retrievers" ("Stoney Ridge Labs" for short).

"Stoney" was the name of our first-ever Lab (a black female) and the dam of our first-ever litter (several years ago).

"Ridge" you all know from this blog (he's our fox-red male stud). :o) It also happens that we live on Ridge Road. So "Ridge" works.

Hence, "Stoney Ridge."

You can visit the web site at www.stoneyridgelabs.com. Either copy and paste that URL into your web browser, or just click here if you want to see the site.

I'm still working on it (still have to add our contact info and some other things) but most of what's needed is there (including Ridge and Elsie's certs and pedigrees).

If you take a look, let me know if I'm missing anything important or if you see any glaring errors. We're not looking to do this breeding thing big time at all. We're only planning on one litter per year, alternating years between Kenya and Elsie so they only have litters every fourth or fifth heat cycle. Next year will be Kenya's turn (if her certs come back okay).

BUT, it sure would make it easier to direct people to a web site for specific information about our dogs, instead of this blog, which is fun but not super information heavy.

So, if you have a moment, take a look and let me know what you think. I welcome your input (constructive criticism, too). I'm not a web site designer, so what you see is the best I could come up with.

Any thoughts?

I look forward to your comments.

'Til next time,
Joan (who will be back with normal pictures, observations, and postings tomorrow -- was trying to get our AKC stuff and the web site stuff taken care of today).

Joan your website is wonderful- though why i would have expected any less from you is unthinkable.
The set out, wording, information just everything is spot on. I only wish i lived a little closer i would undoubtedly apply for one of your pups...but he'd have to be black!
I agree with everything you have written interms of your expectations from a buyer- i think that the return puppy no matter why or what age is absolutely correct and admire you for that.
The profiles on your labs are wonderful and give a very good insight to them-
The whole look, layout and information appears professional and well thought out- it looks to me as though you've covered all aspects-
Well done

Wow, Kate! Thanks for the encouragement. I'm still playing with the site, and adding internal links and such, but I think I got everything up that needed to be there.

I was finally able to post the comment box and questionnaire, too, which were learning curves for me, but they are up now and operating (I think).

I wish you lived closer, too! We would have loved to have placed one of our "grandbabies" with you!

Thanks again!
Joan

Joan,

I just happend to come across your site this morning while looking for plans for a whelping box. Our girl looks like she will be giving birth the end of Sept. and this is our first litter, ever. So I am doing all the reading ect. to make sure we do all we can to have healthy pups. Your site has been one of the best if not the best I have come across. We will be breeding labs, but not full time, just a litter or two a year. Reading your blog has helped so much. I am going to put it under my favorites so I can keep a check.
Great job and thanks for all the insite. You have beautiful dogs.
Thanks you so much.
