Fun Pics of Home-Pups Progress

Check out Sky ("Snoopi") and Green ("Sam") after five days home with us (since their hospitalization). They're starting to look and act like their old selves again!

Here they are playing with a paper towel roll last evening (for the three minutes I let them have it):

And here they are wondering what Daddy Don (DH) is doing over by the food bins (sorry about the color distortion here --the pups aren't really this dark or red -- but the image was dark and this is what happened when I brightened it; still you can see how much better their little bodies are looking these days!):

And here are Mr. Yellow (orange collar, soon to be called "Rigby") and Mr. White (aka Bones, soon to be called "Titan") both of whom just came home Sunday night. Though still pretty skinny, they're already looking and feeling (in my hands when I handle them) much better and stronger:

Yay! These guys are all doing really well. So well, in fact that Sky and Green will undoubtedly be able to go home with their new forever families by the weekend. We've started mixing their regular puppy food with their Prescription Diet food (in very gradual increments), and so far so good (they're loving it and it's agreeing with them). Our goal is to have the pups off meds and on regular food before they go home.

We're thinking White (Bones) and Yellow (orange collar) might be able to go home in about week (maybe Tuesday next week). That's if their recovery goes similarly to what we've seen with Sky and Green.

It's seeming like the pups need about nine days here to finish up their meds and transition to their normal puppy food. But every pup is different, so we'll have to see. Maybe we'll even get the remaining four to their forever families by Thanksgiving. :o)

Speaking of Thanksgiving, there's so much to be thankful for. And we are, indeed.

I'll find out after lunch who gets to come home next and will let you know.

Until then,
Joan

I am SO relieved that everyone is on the mend Joan. just in time for the holiday. Youre right, we all DO have a lot to be thankful for. I bet those pups sure are thankful that they were born into such a loving and caring home!
